End User Licence Agreement

This EULA governs the Vault software you install. Your purchase and the service components are governed by the Terms of Service; where the two conflict on software licensing, this EULA controls.

Grant

Deepak Marathe (sole proprietor), India, grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and run Vault on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use, subject to your compliance with this agreement.

Restrictions

  • No resale, rental, leasing, sublicensing or redistribution of the binaries or licence keys.
  • No removal or alteration of proprietary notices.
  • No reverse engineering, decompilation or disassembly, except where that restriction is unenforceable under applicable law, including EU Directive 2009/24/EC Art. 6 and comparable interoperability provisions.
  • No use of our product name or marks for a derivative distribution without written permission.

Where Vault source code is published under an open-source licence, that licence governs your rights in the source code and prevails over this section to the extent of any conflict.

Updates

We may release updates. Some are required for continued interoperability or security; you may decline them, but Vault may then not function correctly.

No recovery, no warranty

There is no password recovery. Your master password never leaves your device. It derives the key that encrypts your vault. We do not have it, cannot obtain it, cannot reset it, and cannot decrypt or restore your vault without it — no support request, no proof of identity, no legal process and no payment changes that. It is a property of the mathematics, not a policy we could waive. Keep a record of your master password somewhere physically safe, and keep your own exports.

The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, and no independent third-party security audit has been performed. The warranty disclaimer and liability cap in the Terms of Service apply to this EULA in full.

App store provisions

For copies obtained from the App Store, this licence is between you and us only; Apple is not responsible for the software or any claim relating to it, has no maintenance or support obligation, and is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce this EULA against you. Equivalent terms apply to Google Play, the Microsoft Store and the Chrome Web Store where you obtained Vault there.

Term

This licence runs until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach it. On termination you must stop using and remove the software. Termination does not delete or affect your vault, which is on your device and in your own Drive.
